My Summer Holiday – Part 3 (Sleepless in Queenstown – of music in the night and rocking beds…)

No, there were no Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in my feature film “Sleepless in Queenstown”. Instead, it was starred by Nodrin (yours truly) and 3 other co-actors (a.k.a. the male travel companions). 4 of us were crammed into a cabin that look like a hen house when we retired for the first night.

The moment I tried to get some decent sleep, I was constantly interrupted by the loud snoring of my 3 other counterparts. As though as they are performing a rehearsed performance, they snored in perfect harmony and synchronicity enough to put the London Symphony Orchestra to shame.

Then came the time when the bed started to rock and then following by grunts and moans. For goodness sakes, I am not having sex in the bed (much as I would like to, but this is not the case :-( ). I thought it was an earthquake but it turns out my counterpart who was sleeping at the lower deck of the double-decker bed tossed and turned while he slept.

How can you sleep when the whole world was snoring in unison and your bed rocking all night long? If you can sleep soundly, then show me how. I spent the entire night without closing my eyelids. Instead, I spent the first night of my holiday looking up the ceiling and listen to the symphony and rocking. What a great night to remember…
