Music of the night…

After staying 16 years in a big city, I finally decided I had had enough. The pollution (air, water and noise) is suffocating me and I want to leave as soon as possible. So, among the list of my favorite countries, I chose New Zealand. I thought I can live in peace and quiet but I was dead wrong. Every night I have to put up with the combination of these noises:-
  • The annoying tenant next door – They talked loud at night. They bickered several times every week. They like to shift their bloody furniture during the night. On top of that, they seem to like to walk a lot around the house at night by stomping their feet loudly. They must be the descendents of ogres
  • The boy racers – For some reasons they like to choose the windy road next to my flat and perform some cheap stunts
  • The helicopter – Yes, the bloody helicopter from the hospital who seem to like to fly in and out any time they feel like it
  • The sirens – Police, Ambulance and Fire Engines are the permanent fixtures for this small town during the night
  • The clock on the wall – This is the noisiest clock I ever had. It comes free with the flat
  • The old fridge – It hums along to let me know it still works
  • The insect repellent dispenser – To keep my flat free of insects
  • The traffic – I live almost 100 ft above the main road and yet I can still hear the traffic cruising along the main road thanks to the zero sound proofing in my flat
  • The insects – The crickets, cicadas and god knows what other type of critters out there…
When I combine all these noises, I can compose a masterpiece that can keep me awake all night long and let me dance the night away. Interesting eh? Now where is my ear-plugs???
