Pope likens "saving" gays to saving the rainforest
Reuters | Tuesday, 23 December 2008"(The Church) should also protect man from the destruction of himself. A sort of ecology of man is needed," the pontiff said in a holiday address to the Curia, the Vatican's central administration.
"The tropical forests do deserve our protection. But man, as a creature, does not deserve any less."
The Catholic Church teaches that while homosexuality is not sinful, homosexual acts are. It opposes gay marriage and, in October, a leading Vatican official called homosexuality "a deviation, an irregularity, a wound."
The pope said humanity needed to "listen to the language of creation" to understand the intended roles of man and woman. He compared behaviour beyond traditional heterosexual relations as "a destruction of God's work."
He also defended the Church's right to "speak of human nature as man and woman, and ask that this order of creation be respected."
What kind of sick and twisted comment is that???

A comment out of ignorance no doubt. But I think homosexuality has seen worse days - being compared to a rainforest is considerably a lot better than getting hunted down and bashed. LOL. It's discrimination nonetheless, but at least a tad lesser.
The pope is a moron who is blatantly ignorant, insanely idiotic and downright despicable. Who the hell he think he is by throwing his weight around and spew those homophobic remarks?
These people seems to act holier than thou in front of others and command people how to lead their lives but in actual fact they are the worst offenders.
Frankly, I have no respect for such lowly religious scums who used their position to manipulate the masses to suit their own selfish needs.
