He saw the stunning Bottom was harassed and attacked by a homophobic hooligan.

As a result, Top was arrested.
"Why should I care a shit about him? He can do whatever he pleases. It's none of my fucking business..." Bottom retorted.
Best fiend mentioned that after Bottom left Top, Top was very depressed.
"Top loved you dearly, it's just that he did not know how to express himself. He is very sorry for his actions and he is suffering now" Best fiend said.
Outwardly Bottom was unmoved. But deep down his heart, he could not believe what he had heard from Best fiend. He tried to shake it off but couldn't.
After much hesitation, Bottom decided to go and visit Top in the jail. The mere sight of Top made his heart ached. Top has lost a lot of weight.
He kept hurting himself
and was self destructive. 
Top berating himself incessantly for not appreciating Bottom and mourned about the loss love.
Bottom was deeply moved and he cried tears of joy.
Bottom bailed Top out from the jail. When Top saw Bottom, he was overjoyed.
But before Bottom did anything, he first gave Top a good beating for causing the hurt and anguish.
After venting out, Bottom agreed to reconcile with Top but on one condition. "From now on, I shall be the top and you become the bottom" Bottom said. Top agreed.
So Bottom took Top home and "punished" him with a good fuck.
He also made Top his slave.
Since then, they lived happily ever after.
