My Summer Holiday – Part 6 (I need some adrenaline rush…)

I was dragged along to take a ride in the Shotover Jet like a child kicking and screaming. Despite my vehement protests, my travel companions paid for my ticket (at my own expenses of course) and shoved me up to the seat.

Our jet was driven by a very handsome and cute pilot called Mike (See picture below). This alone is a good reason for me to stay in my seat. He took us for a bumpy joyride and showed us the beautiful Shotover River Canyons. Of course, he also showed off his superb driving, maneuvers and stunts. On several occasions, he steered the jet so close to the cliff that I thought we are going to crash. The highlights of the ride are the 360 degrees spin that made all passengers whooped with joy.

At a cost of NZD 99 for a 10 minute ride, it gives you the experience like riding a roller coaster, white water rafting and motor racing combined. And of course it gives you a very sore bum too…
