It all happened when I left a pile of dishes the night before after dinner and forgotten to wash them. So before I left for work, I filled the kitchen basin with water, sprayed heaps of dish washing liquid and soaked the dishes. I should have know it this will turn into disaster because the faucet is leaky (which I am make sure it does not when I left).
To my horror, when I came home from work, I noticed traces of water flowing along the parking bay at the side of my flat. As I opened the door, I noticed 1/3 of the carpet has been soaked like a wet dog and the kitchen floor flooded with water. Apparently the little drips of water has been filling up the basin for over 8 hours and overflowed all over the place.
So I had to spend the next 2 hours of mopping, cleaning and drying. I even had to resort to the hand held heater to blow dry the carpets but in the end I gave up because I was tired. Luckily my flat is located at the sunny side of the house, so I let the mighty sun dry the carpets up.
Now I vowed myself never ever leave the kitchen basin filled with water unattended...
