House hunting...

My patience is wearing thin as the days goes by. The fucking tenant next to my unit is getting more obnoxious and I am getting very sick with them. They seem to think they are the only ones who are staying in the house. They seem to forget they are just a tenant and they do not own the house. Day in day out, they make all sorts of noises all around the house and show total disregard to the rest of the people. The other day, the tenant in the unit downstairs could not stand any longer; he marched right up and gave them a thorough tongue lashing. But that did not stop them; tonight they are making a din again.

Actually, I have been very civil and so far have not blown my top yet. I feel there is no need to fight with such petty and small minded people. So I choose to ignore most of the time. But it seems it is getting out of hand and I feel it is time to move to another place. It would be easy to find a place to move right? So I thought initially but it is not the case.

I wondered why is it so hard to find a decent place to live in this small bloody town. For the past few months I have been house hunting and my efforts were not very successful. It is only a small town of 40,000 for goodness sakes, how hard could it be? Well it is harder than I thought. This first thing to consider is the location. There are many places in this town are quite dodgy and I would not even want to venture into. Secondly is the price. A decent looking house in a nice area is just too expensive. Instead of paying exorbitant rental rates, I would rather use it to pay for an installment of a house. The next thing in my consideration is the setup cost. If I move to a new place, I need to buy electric appliances and furniture which is the last thing I need unless I buy myself a house. These 3 factors are enough to hamper my house searching efforts.

I would not want to buy a house yet considering the fact that the current property prices are sky rocketing due to speculations. Besides, most houses I have seen are in pretty bad shape and cheap quality. Like the saying goes, whatever goes up must come down, I am waiting for the property market bubble to burst before I make a move. I do not know how long this will take, but I am pretty sure, if the property market falls it will fall big time and I am banking for that to happen.

So my immediate attention is to get out of this awful place and find a decent place to rent for the time being...
