Ah, spring is in the air. This morning we had a fabulous sunshine and calm weather. So I decided to explore the neighbourhood around my flat.
Along the way, I saw orange cones were propped up on the roads and a few people wearing bright orange vest and holding stop watches standing nearby. I wondered what it was, then it dawned on me that there was a mini run going on. (Tom will love this...) Anyway, I stood by the curb and watched a couple of runners flew past for a while and carrying on walking.
Then I came to this big sign placed by the road offering brunch in the hotel. OMG, is there a hotel near my place??? As I felt a bit hungry, I thought why not go in and have a peek. The lady in the reception giggled nervously when I asked for the brunch menu. She told me that the restaurant will remain close until 6 pm in the evening. It was barely 10:00 am and the restaurant is closed??? She told me to either come earlier next time (the breakfast starts from 7:00 am) or head to town to have a meal. This is the first time I ever got turn away by a restaurant when I wanted to dine in. Not sure if I want to go back to them again.
I then went on to explore the shops area and went to the supermarket to have a look and there I found my favourite tea - Twinings Green Tea with Jasmine. For some reasons unknown, only this small mart sells this particular flavour. I have hunted all over the big supermarkets in this small town and could not find it. So I made my purchases and head back home.
On my way back I tried an alternative route and I snapped a few pictures along the way. At a particular house, I stopped by the roadside fiddling my camera and I heard this tinkling noise gets closer and closer. When I looked up, I saw this huge dog looming over me by the edge. Luckily he was not menacing and I quickly walked away. Further down the track, I stopped to take a few more shots and when I turned my back, I saw this lady driver and her daughter drove past and smiling happily at me. It's nice to see friendly people.
It took slightly more than an hour to made this short exploration. To sum it up, it is a pleasant walk albeit an uneventful one.

I like walking around and exploring new places. If you slow down and have no particular schedule it's amazing what you notice that you hadn't seen before.
I've never tried Twinings Green Tea with Jasmine.... I did try their Green Tea with mint - it grew on me actually but I still find it a bit toothpastey!
PS - mini run? Pffttt. Did 21.1km this morning! I think that's my running career over though... I've got no desire to upgrade to the full marathon. :)
LOL...I knew the mini run will be an easy feat for you...in fact too easy... ;)
