Love and Marriage...

For some reasons, this song keeps ringing in my ears for the whole day. I wondered why...

Love and Marriage
Writer(s): Cahn/van Heusen

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other

Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementary

Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like the horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one, you can't have none, you can't have one without the other!

No Sir!

I'm Willing...(if only)

This song stirs up a lot of emotions in me. Especially at the moment, when I am all disappointed, frustrated, alone and unwell; it makes my heart ache. Here is the English translation (literally) of the lyrics.

I'm Willing

The longing for you is a very obscure feeling
It always follow me around like a shadow
Silently and instantly, it emanates from the bottom of my heart
And totally shrouded me in the realm of loneliness

I have no strength to resist this deep yearning for you
Especially during the night, this very thought of you makes me feel breathless
I resent the fact that I can't run towards you immediately
And tell you at the top of my voice:

[Chorus]
I'm willing for you, I'm willing for you
I'm willing to forget my identity for you
Even if I can just stay in your embrace for just an extra second
I have no regrets of losing this world

I'm willing for you, I'm willing for you
I'll willingly be banished to the edge of the world for you
As long as you're sincere
And reciprocate my love in return
I'm willing to do anything, anything, for you...

What kind of fool am I?

Dear World

I am feeling rather melancholy this morning. This piece of lyrics reflects how I feel at the moment...

What kind of fool am I

What kind of fool am I
Who never fell in love
It seems that I'm the only one
that I have been thinking of

What kind of man is this?
An empty shell-
A lonely cell in which
an empty heart must dwell

What kind of lips are these
That lied with every kiss
That whispered empty words of love
that left me alone like this

Why can't I fall in love
Like any other man
And maybe then I'll know what kind of fool I am.

What kind of clown am I?
What do I know of life?
Why can't I cast away the mask of play
and live my life?

Why can't I fall in love
Till I don't give a damn
And maybe then
I'll know what kind of fool I am

P.S. I Love You...

Another one of my random song days, today this song just lingered on my mind and I just have to post it here and dedicate to all the readers who visit this page.

P.S. I Love You

Dear, I thought I'd drop a line.
The weather's cool. The folks are fine.
I'm in bed each night at nine.
P.S. I love you.

Yesterday we had some rain,
but all in all I can't complain.
Was it dusty on the train?
P.S. I love you.

Write to the Browns just as soon as you're able.
They came around to call.
I burned a hole in the dining room table.
And let me see, I guess that's all.

Nothin' else for me to say,
and so I'll close. Oh, by the way,
everybody's thinkin' of you.
P.S. I love you.

I do my best to obey all your wishes.
I put a sign up. Think
now I got to buy us a new set of dishes,
or wash the ones that have piled in the sink.

Nothing else to tell you, dear.
Except, each day feels like a year.
Every night I'm dreamin' of you.
P.S. I love you.
P.S. I love you.

A random song...

Another moment where my mind is blank and a song lyric just randomly pop up in my mind...

Stay As Sweet As You Are

Stay as sweet as you are,
Don't let a thing
Ever change you.
Stay as sweet as you are,
Don't let a soul
Rearrange you.

Don't ever lose
All the charm you possess,
Your loveliness, darling,
The way you say "yes".

Stay as sweet as you are
Discreet as you are,
You're divine, dear.
Stay as grand as you are,
And as you are,
Tell me that you're mine, dear.

Young and gay or old and gray,
Near to me or afar,
Night and day I pray
That you'll always stay
As sweet as you are.

(Interlude)

Young and gay or old and gray,
Near to me or afar,
Night and day I pray
That you'll always stay
As sweet as you are.

Blue Skies

What a big difference in today's weather compared to yesterday's. Yesterday it was all strong winds and lashing rain and yet today it was all sunny, bright, warm and breezy. So much so I want to sing out loud "Blue Skies" to the top of my lungs. Of course I would not want to contribute to the noise pollution and risking myself being pelted by rotten eggs, so I let Mel Torme do the job, which he did beautifully. So here it is, enjoy the song.

Blue Skies (click the title to listen to the song)

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on...

Stormy night...

It is a dark and stormy weather tonight. We are getting the first taste of the strong and cold southerly blast. This type of weather is signaling that winter is looming. Found a matching oldie to match tonight's foul weather...

Stormy Weather

Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together, keeps raining all the time
Life is bare, gloom and misery everywhere, stormy weather
Just can't get my poor old self together
I'm weary all the time, the time
So weary all the time

When he went away the blues walked in and they met me
If he stays away, that old rocking chair's gonna get me
All I do is pray the Lord above will let me
Walk in the sun once more

Can't go on, everything I have is gone, stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together
Keeps raining all the time
Keeps raining all the time

Can't go on, everything I have is gone, stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together
Keeps raining all the time, the time
Keeps raining all the time

Time After Time...

Tonight, I arrived home later than usual. As I stared at the cold, dark and empty flat, this particular song popped up in my mind. This is the song where you wish your love ones will sing to you when you retire for the day. This is the song where you wish your loves ones dedicate to you and shower you with love and appreciation. Although this song share the same title as the one covered by Cyndi Lauper (Don't ask me why, I just hate her songs), the lyrics are totally different. So here it is:-

Time After Time

What good are words I say to you?
They can't convey to you what's in my heart
If you could hear instead
The things I've left unsaid

Time after time
I tell myself that I'm
So lucky to be loving you

So lucky to be
The one you run to see
In the evening, when the day is through

I only know what I know
The passing years will show
You've kept my love so young, so new

And time after time
You'll hear me say that I'm
So lucky to be loving you...

Happy Valentines Day!

It's Valentines Day! I slightly modified the lyrics of the song "Lollipops and Roses" and would like to dedicate it to all the lovers (gay and straight alike) out there. Wishing you all a very Happy Valentines Day!

Lollipops and Roses

Tell him/her you care each time you speak,
Make it his/her birthday each day of the week.
Bring him/her nice things, sugar n' spice things,
Roses and lollipops and lollipops and roses.

One day he'll/she'll smile, next day he'll/she'll cry,
Minute to minute, you'll never know why.
Coax him/her, pet him/her, better yet... get him/her
Roses and lollipops and lollipops and roses.

We try acting grownup,
But, as a rule,
We're all little children,
Fresh from school.

So carry his/her books, that's how it starts,
Fourteen or forty, they're kids in their hearts.
Keep them handy, flowers and candy,
Roses and lollipops and lollipops and roses.

(Instrumental Chorus - Strings)

So carry his/her books, that's how it starts,
Fourteen or forty, they're kids in their hearts.
Keep them handy, flowers and candy,
Roses and lollipops and lollipops and roses.

Tell him/her you care each time you speak,
Make it his/her birthday each day of the week.
Bring him/her nice things, sugar n' spice things,
Roses and lollipops and lollipops and roses.

The Same Old Moon...

One of the things I love during summer nights is I get to see the full moon from my bedroom window. Many times when I lie on the bed basking in the soothing moon glow, a beautiful song played in my mind. It is a very nice piece covered by Jerry Vale and the title of the song is "The Same Old Moon". Click here to listen to it, I am sure you will like it too.

The Same Old Moon

The same old moon
Is high above
The same old moon

That brought us love
No man made moon
Can take it's place
In outer space

When i'm with you
At close a day
The same old moon
Shows us the way

No mere machine
Can cast a spell
We know so well

Rockets may fly
And conquer the sky
But science can't bring us bliss

Time will evolve
But they'll never solve
The mystery of a kiss

When our hearts meet
And love's began
Sympathetic stars
Can make us one

Who lights our love
From up above
The same old moon

Rockets may fly
And conquer the sky
But science can't bring us bliss

Time will evolve
But they'll never solve
The mystery of a kiss...

When our hearts meet
And love's began
Sympathetic stars
Can make us one

Who lights our love...
From up above...
The same old moon...

The same old moon...

Never on Sunday...

A cheeky song dedicated to all readers out there. Have a great Sunday rest...

Never on Sunday

Oh, you can kiss me on a Monday a Monday a Monday
is very very good
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday a Tuesday a Tuesday
in fact I wish you would
Or you can kiss me on a Wednesday a Thursday a
Friday and Saturday is best
But never ever on a Sunday a Sunday a Sunday
cause that's my day of rest

Most anyday you can be my guest
Anyday you say but my day of rest
Just name the day that you like the best
Only stay away on my day of rest

Oh, you can kiss me on a cool day a hot day a wet day
which ever one you choose
Or try to kiss me on a grey day a May day a pay day
and see if I refuse

And if you make it on a bleak day a freak day or a week day
Well you can be my guest
But never ever on a Sunday a Sunday the one day
I need a little rest
Oh, you can kiss me on a week day a week day a week day
the day to be my guest

I will survive musical...

I have not been able to laughed out loud for a long time. It's got something to do with my serious and uptight personality. When a well meaning friend sent this YouTube video to me, I just laughed so hard until I almost dropped off the chair. So here it is. But first a word of warning: This video may sound very offensive and disrespectful to certain people and if you feel that way, don't watch it...

I will survive

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

Merry Xmas!

I cried everytime whenever I heard of this song. For the past 3 winters, I cried even harder because I missed my family so much. This song reminds me of the times I spent my time with them where we sticked through thick and thin facing the trials and tribulations in life. Nothing compares to being together with your family (with the conditions that they are not jerks!)

So I would like to dedicate ths song to all of you out there and wishing you a Merry Xmas.

The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like eskimos

Everybody knows some turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
And goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so, I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although its been said
Many times, many ways
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas to.. You!

Summertime...

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But till that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing by

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

Pennies from Heaven

A song to celebrate the spring showers and appreciate the gift from Above...

Pennies from Heaven

A long time ago,
A million years BC.
The best things in life
Were absolutely free.

But no one appreciated,
A sky that was always blue.
And no one congratulated,
A moon that was always new.

So it was planned that they would vanish now and then,
And you must pay before you get them back again.
That's what storms were made for,
And you shouldn't be afraid for.

Every time it rains, it rains,
Pennies from heaven.
Don't you know each cloud contains,
Pennies from heaven.

You'll find your fortune falling all over town.
Be sure that your umbrella is upside down.
Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers.
If you want the things you love, you must have showers.

So when you hear it thunder,
Don't run under a tree.
There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me.
